About ScrapCrafting
ScrapCrafting is a great and simple way to keep your creativity flowing. Becoming a truly great ScrapCrafter is about maximizing your creativity, while minimizing the costs, and still coming out with wonderful projects.

With this first post, I intend to get your mind turning by giving you a few examples of wonderful ScrapCrafting items; items you are sure to have lying around (maybe even at this very moment), and give you ideas of what you can do with them. My list is not, and never will be, a complete list. I give you this list as encouragement to try them and to come up with your own.

  • Popsicle Sticks - can be used to build houses, bridges and stick-figure dolls. They can be painted, drawn on, glittered, and dyed. They can also be used to spread glue or paint.
  • Toothpicks - can be used in place of popsicle sticks.
  • Greeting Cards - can be cut up and used in card making, scrapbooking, posters, and pictures.
  • Old Magazine Pages- can be used in place of Greeting Cards.
  • Plastic From Envelope Windows - can be used to make windows in dollhouses and see-thru cards, or covers for dried flowers, glitter, and confetti.
  • Empty bottles - can be dressed up and made into dolls, paper weights, bookends or storage for other crafting items.
And it doesn't end there, just think of the things you (or your children) could do with:

  • Paper towel and toilet paper rolls
  • Empty pizza boxes
  • Empty milk jugs or cartons
  • Wire or plastic hangers
  • Empty cd cases
  • Cardboard
  • Styrofoam packing
  • Old clothes or blankets
  • Empty candle holders
  • Cookie Tins
Basically, anything that you throw out could have some other use. Just make sure to completely wash or clean items (like the milk jugs) before using them. And remember, have FUN!
